JAMB 2020 Registration and procedure

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has finally reached a date to conduct its 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)

The Examination will commence between March 14 and April 4 2020. The registra Prof. Oloyede said the registration would hold between Jan. 13 and Feb. 1, 2020 while the mock examinations would hold on Feb. 18, 2020.

According to the registra, the UTME 2020 registration will be taking another dimension as the board is bringing in the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), as directed by the National Assembly and Federal Executive Council, to conduct the 2020 UTME.

All prospective candidates are advised to approach any NIMC enrollment centre to obtain the National Identification Number (NIN) to enable them register for the examination.

HOW MUCH DOES THE UTME FORM COST?

No price has been announced yet but, in the previous year, UTME charges 4000 for the registration of each candidate; of which 3500 is for the e-pin, and 500 for the recommended literature (Bolaji Abdullahi’s “Sweet sixteen”). The registration usually cost $20 for candidates who will register using any of UTME foreign examination centres. A compact disc which encompasses the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination’s syllabus, an e-Brochure and some important materials are also provided and collected at the point of registration. One thing is certain, Candidates will be expected to pay not more than N700 as service charge to the CBT centres for registration.

HOW DO I FILL MY FORM?

The 2020 portal allows candidates to select any tertiary institution according to their choice of preferences. This means that, a candidate can prefer to make either a university, polytechnics, College of education, Monotechnics, Innovative Enterprise Institute, Nigerian Police Academy and Nigerian Defence Academy as his first or second choice.

WHAT IS THE REQUIREMENT FOR PURCHASING THE 2020 UTME FORM?

A candidate who want to take part in the forth coming UTME examination must have possessed at least a minimum of five credits in their O’level certificate with English Language and Mathematics inclusive. But if such candidate has not gotten an O'level result, he may register as "awaiting result".

It is important to know that JAMB does not post any candidate to an examination town where he/she has not chosen. It is therefore advised that all interested candidates should register on time before their desired examination town will be full such that their will be no space to accommodate one in his/her desired examination town.
