Man Utd v Liverpool; Late goal saves Liverpool's blemishes.

Man Utd secure a hard fought draw against Liverpool.

Under fire Solskjaer faces excellent Kloop side.

Arguably the most anticipated encounter in English Football, the match was held on high esteem but hardly delivered anything special as both sides went toe-to-toe on Saturday evening.

How it all went down;

Having been unbeaten in 8 league matches and on a 17 match winning run, Liverpool were looking to add one more win to the bunch.

United themselves weren't looking good going into this match having only secured just 9 points in 8 league matches played so far. They are winless in 3 league matches (LDL) and 3 matches in all competitions. With Solskjaer in the hot seat, United were not willing to lose this match.

Rashford scores for United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set United up expertly  and their first half performance was good with Marcus Rashford giving them the lead in the 36th minute from a Daniel James cross from the right flank.

United were saved from a Victor Lindelof error when Sadio Mané almost equalized for Liverpool but the goal was ruled out by VAR after the ball hit Mané's arm. And the first half ended one nil to United.

The second half kicked off and United were back to their high pressing which worked so well in the first half. But the second half was a different story as Liverpool completely dominated possession.

Lallana equalizes for Liverpool (supersub!)

Finally, to Liverpool's relief in the 85th minute a Andrew Robertson cross passed straight through the United defence without a single touch only for Adam Lallana to tap-in at the far post leaving nothing for David De Gea to do but make a futile stretch in an attempt to save United from despair.

Although it was a scruffy match on both ends with Manchester United looking dangerous in the first half and looking to win it all but Liverpool were able to save themselves and remain unbeaten in 9 league matches so far even though their winning run has come to an end.

Solskjaer will be glad to have secured an all crucial point at home against a better Jurgen Kloop side who also fought hard to leave Old Trafford with at least a point even though it can be argued that they deserved more.

Eventually it ended all-square at Old Trafford.
