Tips for Building a Good Relationship


To love is beautiful, to be loved is amazing. There’s a difference between being loved and feeling loved. When you feel loved, it makes you feel accepted and valued by your partner. There’s no doubt that making and keeping happy and healthy relationships can be very difficult so, whether your relationship is just starting out or you’ve been together for years, there are steps you can take to build a healthy relationship. 

Don't expect too much from your partner this can put them under an unhealthy pressure which is bad on a relationship; if you expect to get a hundred percent of what you want all the time, you are settling up for disappointment. Respect each other's decisions.

Don't make assumptions that your partner knows what you need. Assumptions sponsors offense. Your partner is not a mind reader and definitely doesn't know what runs through your mind. While they may have some ideas, it is much better to express your needs directly to avoid any confusion. Your partner may sense something, but it might not be what you need. Don't be embarrassed to tell what you need. 

Good communication is key for any relationship. When you both know what you want from the relationship and feel comfortable expressing your needs, fears, and desires, it can increase trust and strengthen the bond between you. An open and honest conversation can prevent disputes. Share your ideas, 
plans and goals together. Be a good listener and try to be empathetic. 

Make out time for each other no matter how busy you are; it’s important to make out time to spend together. Find something you both enjoy doing (dancing, singing, watching movies etc),try out new things, have fun, think about ways you can surprise your partner this will enhance trust between you. 

Most importantly, be willing and ready to forgive even though you are not the offender. A relationship without conflicts is IMPOSSIBLE. Rather than holding on to past conflicts or grudges and assigning blame, focus on what you can do to solve the problem; agree to disagree and look at the future you are building together. 

Keeping a relationship is interesting especially a healthy one. But this, depends on the time and effort you put into it; you will feel satisfied, loved and respected when you give your best. Trust each other, don't try to act smart or play safe, just enjoy every bit all the way as you walk through the journey.
